HB-41 "FLAT TOP"
The unofficial name carried the unofficial respect.
'Flat top' was the deck crew's word for the ships they served on. It was casual where official names were heavy. It described the only thing about the ship that mattered for the work being done. The wing flew off the flat top, came back to the flat top, and worked the cycle of the flat top. The official designations changed by class and by year. The flat top stayed what it was.
For those who understand that the working name for a thing is sometimes the most honest description of what it does.
