The Air War. 1945 printed large up the case, an escort fighter climbing beside it, and TO TOKYO · 7·IV·1945 across the foot.
7 April 1945, Tokyo. From an island base about 760 miles to the south, P-51D fighters flew their first long-range escort missions to Japan, with the bombers bound for an aircraft-engine plant in Tokyo. Our own side-view drawing, with no markings. Remembered by the date, not slogans.
Print reads: 1945 · TO TOKYO · 7·IV·1945, beside a side-view drawing of the aircraft.
