7 April 1945, Tokyo. From Iwo Jima, about 760 miles to the south, P-51D fighters flew their first long-range escort missions to Japan, with the bombers bound for an aircraft-engine plant in Tokyo. Our own side-view drawing, with no markings. Remembered by the date, not slogans.
Front print reads: 1945 · TO TOKYO · 7·IV·1945 · PACIFIC · LONG-RANGE ESCORT, with a side-view drawing of the aircraft.
