7 April 1945, Tokyo. From an island base about 760 miles to the south, P-51D fighters flew their first long-range escort missions to Japan, with the bombers bound for an aircraft-engine plant in Tokyo. Our own side-view drawing, with no markings. Remembered by the date, not slogans.
Print reads: 1945 · TO TOKYO · 7·IV·1945, with a side-view silhouette of the aircraft, on both sides.
- 11 oz glossy ceramic mug, about 3.8 in (9.7 cm) tall × 3.3 in (8.3 cm) across
- Design printed on both sides, so it reads right in either hand
- White or black glaze
- Printed to order (sublimation): colours sit in the glaze, not on top of it
- Hand-wash recommended to keep the print at its best
- Facts checked against official sources
